Fascinating article; glad I stumbled upon it. I can remember watching a rock band play in the Square in the late 60′s.

Just one typo, I think. Your photo of the ‘Performance’ exterior in Powis Square is captioned:
“81 Powis Square in 1968 (number 25 in the film)”
I think it’s the other way round!
Ie it’s concealed as ’81′ in the film; but is ’25′ in reality.

Another great post but the picture of Fox and Cammell is outside the bookies on Fulham Road opposite Chelseas ground that feature in the film,you can see the bottom of the turf accountants sign at the top of the picture

Thanks for this! it’s far more information than I’ve ever had about this film before. I saw it first in about 74 when I was only a few years older than Breton, and have been haunted by it since.

And the camera pans down to…. Jagger’s big danglers and deeply thatched forest! Those frames punctuated a rather telling synopsis.
