Bob Britt became a neighbour of mine in the early 1980's he was a lovely kind man. He took the 'stage' name of Robert Linden and according to the stories he told he danced in many of the top shows in London, was with the Crazy Gang at Royal Variety Performances, danced for Frederick Ashton and performed at Windsor Castle. He was also part of the first BBC television broadcasting trials at Alexandra Palace in North London. When he was in his eighties he took up painting as a hobby and became quite proficient. He lived to be 100 years old and died in West Sussex in 2000.

itself and the infamous ‘haunt of vice’ promenade."

I guess that should be 1894, a pity that the theatre has long gone.
