This is one of the most informative and insightful articles I've read in a while. The whole Victorian spiritualism obsession is fascinating.

I went to a play at Hoxton Hall recently, called 'Hoxton's Most Hauntd; Between Two Extremes'. It was a performance about spiritualism and was really very enjoyable, although rather disturbing at times!

Rosenberg's *name* was German, not Estonian, and he was ethnically German himself. I think you mean to say that he was a Baltic German, that is, a member of one of the German familes that settled in Estonia and the other Baltic lands over the centuries, and by the 20th century had come to dominate their economies. The Nazis tried to gather all the Baltic Germans into the "homeland", and few, if any, remain in the Baltic republic today.
